With a life devoted to fly fishing, Mariano learned to read the water from a very young age while exploring the Buenos Aires Delta alongside his father. That family legacy sparked an international career as a professional guide.
Over the years, Mariano has guided in some of the most demanding fly fishing destinations on Earth. He is a specialist in Golden Dorado fishing across Bolivia, the Upper Paraná, the Iberá Wetlands, the Corriente River, and the Delta. He also brings extensive experience targeting trout in Patagonia and Río Grande (Tierra del Fuego), as well as King Salmon (Chinook) in Chile and Atlantic Salmon in Russia and Iceland.
At Buenos Aires Fly Fishing, his deep understanding of apex predatory species and impeccable track record guarantee our guests a world-class fishing experience.

Malcolm’s connection with fly fishing began in his teenage years along the banks of the Paraná River, turning that initial fascination into a prolific professional career.
Owner of Cover Fly Shop for over a decade and a guide on the Golden Dorado River Cruiser since 2010, Malcolm possesses an unmatched ability to read the Middle and Lower Paraná waters. His expertise covers all major native predatory species of the region: Golden Dorado, Pacú, Surubí, and Wolf Fish (Tararira). Furthermore, his adventurous spirit has taken him to extraordinary destinations around the globe, enriching his perspective on angling and guest hospitality.
At Buenos Aires Fly Fishing, Malcolm guides and coordinates trips in the Río de la Plata and the Buenos Aires Delta, delivering a high-level technical experience for anglers seeking to target the formidable predators of our waters.
Joaquín Figuerola
Guide / Fly Fishing Host
Joaquín’s relationship with fishing began during his childhood summers in Uruguay, fishing for croakers and silversides. On every family road trip, he eagerly anticipated the moment of crossing the bridges over the Paraná de las Palmas and Paraná Guazú rivers, dreaming of one day catching the large Golden Dorado he saw featured in fishing magazines.
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, he found the Lower Paraná Delta and the Río de la Plata to be the ultimate playground for his passion, targeting aggressive native species like the Golden Dorado and Wolf Fish (Tararira). In 2018, he took a key step by building his own cabin in the Delta, seamlessly weaving his connection with nature into his daily life.
Since joining Buenos Aires Fly Fishing as a guide and host, Joaquín has been guiding anglers from around the world, sharing the unforgettable thrill of landing a Golden Dorado on a fly just outside Buenos Aires.
